Meeting #3 Update

Hiya!

Russell, Mike, Luis, and Rowan met today at Mike’s house for about 2½ hours. Here is what we covered:

Our next meeting will be on Saturday, June 22nd at 1 PM. Venue is Russell’s studio in Eastworks #232 at 116 Pleasant St, Easthampton, MA 01027.

If you haven’t yet come, we encourage you to come! We will have more discussion and development of the “Sound Staged” script.

Today we discussed many ideas about how to make the script stronger. Mike and Luis are going to collaborate on the next draft and send out one version when they are ready. We are looking forward to seeing what develops from our lively brainstorming session today.

We also talked about considering a new name for our group, one that feels more engaging, creative, and compelling for new people who might be interested in story telling through film.Nothing has been decided yet. Concepts like having an interesting acronym or short but fun sounding name were put forth. (I have a few ideas but want to wait to make a separate entry.) We noted that a new name does not separate it from the on-going critique group Johnathon runs and that we can pull people in from both groups. Stay tuned for more on this.

Lastly, we got a great sense of the incredible array of equipment Mike has for filmmaking. Cameras, and lights, and lav mikes, oh my! His space is limited but workable to shoot a well-defined scene.Mike also volunteered to consolidate people’s contact info and their abilities to see what we have to work with.

Overall, today’s meeting is showing that the project, while still in development, is moving ahead with a small group of people. We could benefit from others coming forward so consider stopping by a week from Saturday.
